I know I write about treating each other in positive ways, but sometimes people pretend to be nice when they really aren’t. I saw a video on Facebook about a man who was homeless but had true kindness. A woman had lost her dog and posted signs everywhere. No one would help her. Everyday she searched but to no avail. However, a homeless man saw the signs and began looking for the dog. He saw the woman looking and could see she really missed her dog. Once he found the dog, who liked him very much, he returned it to the woman. She was very grateful. A year later she was walking her dog when her dog ran off and over to the homeless man. She knew instantly that he was the man who had found her dog previously. She walked over and told him that her dog does not like many people. It was clear that the dog really liked this man. Then she said, “You don’t remember me do you?” He just nodded. She went on to say, “You were the only person who actually looked for my dog. I own a dog grooming service and I was wondering if you would like a job?” He smiled and was obviously thrilled. She gave him enough money to get a room, buy clean clothes and get a haircut. Now that was true kindness. It gets so old that people continue to be unkind to others, say rude words and in general believe they are superior to anyone and everyone. When people talk about the good old days, it now seems that they may have been better than we thought.
