The costs of many items that were not considered luxury suddenly are expensive. I just read that the cost of baseball game tickets has increased one hundred seventy-four percent. That is significant. Joining in for a pot luck dinner with the neighborhood can be quite costly. For example, if you are designated to bring fruit, the prices will amaze you. We are careful about purchasing fruit as I only want organic. Sometimes they don’t even have them. My granddaughter likes apples and finding organic at a reasonable price is never easy. When my children were growing up part of the time we owned a house between two apple orchards. Not only my children, but most of the children who grew up in that area had and as adults have health issues. My children have less that many of the other kids. My granddaughter had a sleepover last week and my daughter promised they could buy candy at the grocery. What used to be less than one dollar now costs several. She ended up giving them ten dollars or in Euros eight and sixty-five cents. Of course, because of the increase in minimum wage, fast foods are much higher in price so I am told. The price of a car wash was once around three dollars and it is now up to close to ten.
