Many of us live a high stress life. We would prefer not to yet things just keep happening. What makes things worse is that our brain has been trained to associate accomplishment with stress. It sounds crazy but it is true. If you think about your success, how did you get there? High stress, working late, often risking almost everything to make that goal happen, even pushing yourself to the point of exhaustion. However, once you succeed, your brain releases your high stress along with dopamine which is the chemicla that makes you feel good. The problem sometimes is that your brain may not allow you to succeed. It becomes comfortable with the high stress and wants to stay that way. When something positive happens whether in your life or your career or business, stop, take a deep breath and relax for a few minutes. Teach yourself that this is what success is and appreciate it. It gives you the opportunity to reduce your high stress and then move forward. What you really want to do is to train yourself to crave efficiency and not high stress. It can make a huge difference in your life. What do you think?
