Many people do not even know what handball is. Those that do often use a racquet as opposed to their hands. When I was first married, my late husband and I moved to the Dallas area for his job. He had known how to play handball in Massachusetts as they had outdoor courts for the game. When we found a few courts at a park, we met up with other people who played and pretty soon it was a Sunday event. Once the games finished we all went to brunch. It was nice. We continued to play when we moved to New Hampshire, then California and finally to Las Vegas. We played in all areas. I am not athletic. When we lived in New Hampshire we had a friend who had Sunday baseball games. Mostly they allowed me to walk to first base before stricking me out. By the time my son was three, he could hit the ball and make the bases. In New Hampshire the home we purchased had a defunct pool. He filled it in and we had a handball court. Both my children learned to play as well as their friends. California was primarily indoors which I didn’t care for. Las Vegas was outdoors in various parks. I was the type of player who could not move much and still score. Just today while I was watching “Murdoch,” the chief and a priest played outdoor handball with their hands. I have actually never seen it on a show, have you?
