Recently I was in the hospital two times. All the nurses that took care of me, both male and female, were very kind. However, I saw an article that discussed how patients really treat their nurses. The patients tend to make rude remarks. One person said that frequently the patients will commet, “You are just a nurse.” Seriously, they study more than a person can imagine and put up with being treated poorly. I think the nurses go above and beyond. They basicaly service people 24/7. There are individuals who state to them often that they just do the work for the money. First of all their pay has never been extremely high and they do put up with more that they care to. I don’t know how many peole have asked nurses why they didn’y become doctors. First of all nursing may be their calling in their hearts. Second the cost may have been beyond them. Third, their chemistry skills may just not be in the high marks. They even say this on TV shows, “When is the real doctor coming in?” First of all, if you hve been in the hospital they do not stay long, check a few things and then that is it. The nurses know what is happening and if the doctor needs to return to see you. Some individuals resent a male nurse. I had two and they were fine. There was a nurse in the Good Gus series, Nurse Joyce. I made sure she was appreciated. She appears once Dr. Moore opens practice and realizes he needs help.
