Hurtful Phrases and Words

How often have your feelings been hurt by someone saying hurtful words and phrases? There are too many  negative phrases. I hate it when a person says “You are a liar.” It is quite common on TV shows and reels. Another is, “How can you be so stupid?” There are individuals who believe they are smarter than everyone when in reality they aren’t. Kids say it to their parents frequently. It’s just not true. Here is another one. “You promised you would change but you never do.” People do change but maybe not as fast as they want the change to occur. One of my favorites is “I hate you. I hate people.” It is unnecessary to make those hurtful phrases or words. Kindness is far more thoughtful yet they tend to lose their tempers and feel justified to make those remarks. Some of the worse phrases are “You are just like your mother or father.” That realy upsets people. “You don’t care.” is a great one that people say. The worse part is that the victim probably does care quite a bit. I can’t stand the phrase, “You are just being over emotional,”  Sometimes I tbelieve people think of hurtful phrases and words just to make an argument worse, don’t you? In the Good Gus series, the only person who argued was Bad Bart. The series in both e-book and paperback are a good read and a nice Christmas gift. Hurtful phrases and words are used frequently in “Misplaced Trust.” It might be a great Christmas book in e-book for an adult on your list.
