Whether it is advertising, TV shows, movies, companies, attorneys, books or even businesses, they all have scores. There now seems to be scores for everything. If the ratings drop in TV shows or movies they are instantly pulled. With companies, it really applies to the quality of their products, their customer service and/or money back guarantee and warranty. When choosing an attorney, their assessments are crucial particularly if you wish to win a case. Not all attorneys are equal. This even includes estate planning. In my line of work, besides writing, I have seen countless trusts that were horrific. Many of them with as few as ten pages which, I know, sounds absurd. A good trust should be up to date with the laws and have a minimum of one hundred pages. Ours are one hundred thirty plus. When you review anything for your personal needs and this could include repair people, plumbers, roofers, etc. verify everything. I have been cheated in the past with remodeling that once again is now falling apart, the floors that is, and the contractor is nowhere to be found. In addition, he presented fake documents that were only valid the one time I checked. The last area includes people scoring each other. Basically they are judging on looks, appearances and success. I saw a Facebook video about a very attractive woman who worked at a company for a few years. She was finally promoted so her boss invited her out to dinner to celebrate. When he drove her home and she started out of the car, he said, “Aren’t you going to invite me in after all I did just promote you? She said no and the next morning she was fired. She decided for her next job to look frumpy. She succeed relatively quickly. One man treated her poorly until he began to know her. He even met her alternate, the beauty. Of course as the beauty she was nice but that was as far as it went. Eventually, he treated the frumpy girl with respect and began to really like her. It was then he finally realized that it was what was inside that counted not her score on looks and her figure. When he finally proposed, she showed him her true self. It just proves that scores at least in people only matter if it is on the inside just as all the characters in the Good Gus series. It is available in e-book and paperback. People should perform scores on attorneys for estate plans as mentioned in “Misplaced Trust.” It is a good holiday read in e-book.
