Contrite

There are times when people should say they are sorry but they don’t. They can’t even appear contrite. There is no point in even beginning to wonder why. This is also true when someone does something terrible to you such as take your home, car and all your assets. You cannot sit around and wonder why. You have to begin a new life regardless of your age. It is particularly awful for the parents that paid for college so that now their child have  a great job. There is also no point in feeling contrite if you family doesn’t like you and vice versus. I was recently in the hospital with pneumonia, yes again. I had a relative call a social work who truly gave me a great deal of grief. I wasn’t sure if I was even leaving. It is better, and this is my theory, to mind your own business. Many families are now going no contact with each other. So much so that a woman formed a group for mothers whose daughters no longer care or speak to them. Many children now are just ungrateful. They stopped appreciating their families. Many feel that they were owed whatever their parents did. I think it is a two way street. They should be kind to each other and appreciate the good. Yes the bad exists everywhere but holding a grudge is not necessary. I do know individuals who cannot let go and still carry it with them. My question is, “How is it doing you any good?” What do you think? I left this facet of behavior out of the Good Gus series. The books bring joy to the reader.
