Walk in my Shoes

As governments make decisions, they really should consider what it would be like to walk in my shoes. I am not talking about myself specifically but rather the poor countries who no longer have medical or food supplies to help them carry through. Then there are the people who are trying their best but they cannot make it financially. They need the government assistance. Now in many countries it is being cut off. Stop and think if just five of those government officials who are controlling others’ lives lived in their circumstances for one week. I am sure that their attitude would change. Walk in my shoes for even one day and then see how you feel. Look at the countries at war. None of the upper eschelon are involved or at the front lines. Neither are the government decision makers. Not every country does this but there are enough who are not helping those in need. From the time we were young we were taught to be kind and respectful to others. That training doesn’s seem to exist any more. Let me give you an example. I often bake various foods for widows who do have family but live alone. A few days ago one of the neighbors had a birthday. He went on a date. Two days later my daughter and I dropped off a very small cake I made for him and a batch of corn muffins. Yesterday he came over without us asking and mowed and weed wacked the front, sides and back grass. Today I made his favorite apple muffins. It is a recipe I made up for my son when he was diagnosed with Type I diabetes as a child. Everyone loves them. Maybe the people in power should try to take a walk in our shoes, then they might think more carefully and kindly when making decisions. What do you think?
