Glow up is the new term for tweens using make up. I didn’t understand why my eleven year old granddaughter was so interested in make up but now I do. It’s a new routine that encourages kids to buy make up and beauty products. At eleven I wore nylons to church. That was it. Now I think because girls are maturing faster they are using make up to cover their blemishes. TikTok promotes glow up and obviously makes a great deal of money from their advertising.Their routines are unbelievable. They convince the girls to buy press-on nails, wigs, slathering all types of products on their faces, mascara, lipstick, eye shadow, etc. My granddaughter tried a few products resulting in blemishes and rashes. My daughter said she was not allowed to go out with anything on her face. She has finally learned part of a lesson but not all. She now uses a roller to smooth out her skin. There is nothing but water on it. I have tried it and I like it. I think I will get one. She has tried products that make her skin glow which also gave her a rash. By forbidding the glow up only makes them want to secretly do it. This way she learned quickly that she has sensitive skin.
