It is not often you come across true selflessness. Many of the reels on Facebook show cruelty often to children. However, last night I saw a reel about a man carrying a backpack walking in a New Orleans airport for a flight for a final job interview in North Carolina. He was a widower with one son and his mother lived with them. As he was standing in line he saw a woman that looked worn and weak. He stepped out of line and offered her help. He bought her a hot tea and a muffin. Once she ate she felt much better. By that time, just as she finished eating, his plane took off. He helped to the other side of the airport and she thanked him and handed him a note. He sat down and after about an hour he looked at the note and told him to call her. He did and she reappeared nicely dressed accompanyed by her son and what appeared to be an assistant. Come to find out, she was the CEO of the airport. She offered him a job and told him he could think about it. She arranged for a new flight and he went to North Carolina. He was offered the job but he liked her offer better. Due to his compassion and kindness he became the head of a major department and a year later promoted again. It just shows you that selflessness often works out in a positive manner. In the Good Gus series that was the exact behavior of the adult characters. Try an e-book for the child in your home. “Misplaced Trust” had just the opposite.
