Novelties

There are many novelties that now no longer exist. For example, When I was young I went every Saturdy to my cousin’s. We then went roller skating at a rink. It was great fun. Many bowling alleys have disappeared until recently. They are putting candlepin in various locations including Las Vegas. If you don’t know what candlepin is they are simply small pins. When I bowled with my chidren and sometimes their friends, they all loved me because I never knocked all the pins down.  Now because everyone has a phone, there are no more music stores. Many people would socialize with other individuals who liked the same type of music. I still have original albums and a record player. There are peope who love the sounds from a record player.  When I worked in San Diego, there were coffee houses. They were always crowded. What is a novelty today are soda shops. One time when I was a teenager, my girlfriends and I did “The Mashed Potato” which was a dance in 1962 by Dee Dee Sharp across a street with two lights! It was a popular song.  Of course, video stores are all closed. I still have a DVD player and DVD’s. The only available that was invented before the Good Gus era was bowling. It was invented in Egypt in 3200BC. Good Gus brings joy to the young reader. Give an e-book a try.  There is nothing novel in “Misplaced Trust.” It contains greed and white collar true crime.
