Product Shortages

Lately I have noticed a variety of product shortages.  I often order from a nationwide discount store in the states.  I found it unusual that they were out of bleach. When COVID was in effect no one could find bath tissue or cases of water.  That era has passed, however the prices have increased dramatically. When I was at the grocery today, I was surprised to see different shelves that were empty.  In addition, I was buying chipped beef and they only had one brand.  Of course, the price has increased over two hundred percent.  Even the price of postage has increased. Sometimes, when you wish to buy various items you can’t find them.  For example, I like an organic cocoa.  The shelf location has been empty for three weeks. I even went to a sister store, and still empty. Today I tried to purchase a specific brand a CBD pain relief cream.  Not only has the price increased for $23.95 with free shipping to $74.95 that also included shipping;  I could not find it at a lower price and everywhere was out of stock.  This is an unusual item for product shortages. Sometimes when I do go to the grocery I have found that they were out of stock for organic flour and sugar and the prices, of course, are up dramatically.  I do not fully understand.  I do see continual adverts for vehicles that they claim they are overstocked.  Who knows?  In the Good Gus series, from time to time there were product shortages.  The shopkeepers would join together and head to Ft. Worth for the items they needed. The Good Gus Series is available online at Kindle, Nook and Waterstones. Hard copies, personally autographed, are available through our website www.goodgusbooks.com along with past blogs for your reading enjoyment.
