Interesting Character

Do you know an interesting character? Many people really are when they are older and discuss their past. It is often quite interesting.  They may have been in the military and traveled the world. My former neighbor when I was a child had been in the South Pacific during WWII. He was a strong man with a degree in chemistry.  After returning from the war, he decided to become a milkman. He felt it was easier mentally and emotionally. He was a very nice man. He only had daughters so he participated a great deal with the Boy Schouts.  My friend and I liked to go to the meetings because of the cute boys. He even took in a foster teen althugh not officially with the county.  It made a word of difference for the boy growing up.  Most people never moved and did not travel frequently back then because of the high costs. Of course, today everything has changed. I have known many people who have traveled and even lived in other cities or countries.  My cousin’s son lived in Scottland to attend college and even lived in Russia for three months to learn the language. Today families often leave the United States to live in Europe.  They like the lifetyle in several countries.  It is an adjustment but many families are enjoying it.  I have a family friend whose daughter, husband and children are living in Italy. The husband works for the U.S. government.  The boys are having a great time and many advetures.  Their mother has visited a variety of tourist locales which they all have enjoyed.  Many people live the same dreary life but sometimes a change is for the best.
