As the news and internet continues to discuss the climate, the winter weather has become quite cold for various locations. For example, Southern California has been waking up to forty-two degree mornings which is 5.55 in celsius. That is very low for the location. They have also been having an inordinate amount of rain. Today I saw on the news that Texas may see snow next week as their temperatures have been dipping as well. The winter weather is appealing to many people as they can participate in winter sports. Skiing, snowboarding, sledding, and ice skating are all quite popular. When I lived in Ireland, which does have cold winter weather, I always wore long underwear every single day. Due to the unseasonably cold weather in the greater San Diego area, even Miss Patty is wearing the longjohns everyday. Coping with cold winter weather is not everyone’s cup of tea. I have lived in the northeastern part of the United States and found it extremely difficult to bear. Even as a child it was always just too cold to me. Of course, this is also the time people travel to warmer climates in the states and Europe. The holiday cruises are booming along with flights to warm islands. One of the difficulties with winter weather is the ice, snow, slush and frozen roads and bridges. It does tend to cause numerous accidents. How do we all keep warm? I have an electric blanket and had one in Ireland. It is too difficult to jump into bed and have it be so cold. Besides gloves, mittens, hats, and heavy coats there now exisits hand warmers than can make a world of difference. I have always maintained that pictures of cold weather and snow are lovely to view just not in person. How do you feel about winter weather?
