Wherever we live there is usually unwanted vermin. I saw an article today about a sister removing a snake that was slithering up the stairs to her sister’s wedding. She was brave. The other day a scorpion was walking across my bedroom floor. It took three hard stompings before it died. Then a few days later, while at my desk, I picked up my business checkbook only to find another scorpion staring me in the face. That was awful. I flipped him off the checkbook and again through much effort it died. If that isn’t enough, a black hornet made it into the house. He was flyinging around and even landed on my head. This was upsetting. I found a roll of papertowels and began the hunt. He was on my window in my bedroom so I began swatting him. Fifteen times before he went in between the window and the part you pull to open. I finally folded a papertowel and pinched him up. He still was not dead. Then I went into my bathroom, turned on the hot water and let him drown. No still not dead. Finally, I pushed him down the sink with the papertowel. It was not fun. Two days ago I woke up to something crawling on my face which I promptly removed. Yes I live in the country and this is not fun. We did have a mouse that I finally caught with a trap. He would leave little persents in my kitchen drawers. One time when I lived in New England a snake crawled into our garage. My children watched while I entered my car, which was large, and drove over him several times until he died. It was unbelievable but they were cheering me on. While we lived there, my son and his friends used to hunt for snakes and shoot them with bebe guns. I learned how to shoot a bebe gun when I was a young girl. My grandfather thought it was a good way to learn how to protect myself just in case. I hate all unwanted vermin, don’t you? The Good Gus Series is available online at Kindle, Nook and Waterstones.
