How many times in your life have you given up on something because you decided it just wasn’t worth the effort? We probably all have at one time or another. I am a freelance paralegal and truthfully it is just not worth the effort. People are always causing problems. Once the work is finished you would assume that was the end of it. Absolutely not for more people than I would care to count. They usually come back and claim I made a mistake. What is generally the case is that they changed their mind and want a document changed primarily amendments for free. We had one client that lied three times and I had to change it. No money results in these useless efforts but these people tend to cause problems. Right now I have to do a quitclaim deed for free. The documents were sent to the client. At the time, I did do the work. However, I was living in Ireland and was not responsible for the shipments. The manager had a letter that was included that did not list out everything that was enclosed and the action to be taken. It was the resposibility of the client to record their deed to put into their living trust. In reality, it was not Miss Patty’s responsibility either. The letter should have given details regarding recording their home into their trust. When I read it twelve years later I was shocked and upset. So today I simply had to do a new deed even though I did one previously as the forms have changed. Was this worth the effort? No but I had no choice. Repairing an old car is often just not worth it unless it is your only option. This is also applicable for a variety of repairs for applicance. Do you often end projects, repairs, etc. because they are not not worth the effort? The Good Gus Series is available online at Kindle, Nook and Waterstones.
