How frequently have you discovered by accident that someone you know has a hidden agenda? It mosly occurs in the workplace. Often a person will suddenly be nice to you. Of course, you wonder why but you may think, “Well this is pleasant.” However, the fake nice person has a hidden agenda. It may be that they want to steal your ideas, take over your project or claim they wish to help you. Unfortunately, if they do help you they will take credit in the end. So many times I have seen this scenario on Facebook videos. It is almost always a man who does it. They start out just being nice and inquiring as to how the work is going. They already know and chances are they were upset that the project wasn’t assigned to them. Very quickly they see what you are doing and then quietly begin taking charge. Slowly the orginal workmate misses what is happening as it is gradual. Before long he has taken over the project and then when the first person did the bulk of the work he then sneaks it away and presents it as his work. When questioned later by the manager, the original person said he did help but she did the bulk of the work. Who will the manager believe? If the boss is smart he or she will know that the man had a hidden agenda in helping her so he could receive credit and possibly a promotion. Let me give you another story. This is about a man who did not want to pay child support. He moved his family to a new city for a change of location for his job but really to live in the same local as his mistress. The child started being very sad after coming home from school and finally told her mother that she didn’t want her teacher to be her new mother. The woman instantly understood and realized that the husband and mistress were setting her up so he wouldn’t have to pay child support. It didn’t take long for the mother to figure it out, hire an attorney and remove her child from the school. He very definitely had a serious hidden agenda.
