There are a number of reasons why peole over compensate. For example, I know employers who hire young good looking women to appear with them at meetings, trade shows, and special business dinners. The ladies are not for anything else but strickly for appearance for work. They are over compensated because they generally hear confidential information that must remain that way. Apparently from all the social media, many government employees in America are over compensated as well. If one over compensates it is not always about money. Many people over compensate at work just to be noticed and recognized. In families there are always one or two people who over compensate to prove they are better than the other members of the family. Sadly it often fails and then these family members are criticized and insulted which frequently makes them do it more. They want to be noticed and recognized but there is almost always someone who outshines them. I have often thought that bullies over compensate because they generally pick on both children and adults who are smarter then them or excel in sports. It is part of the way almost of getting recognized. Yet, they are not recognized for their brains but rather their stupidity for bothering the super smart or nerds. Do you have family members that over compensate? I did not include any type of over compensating in the Good Gus series. All books are fun to read.
