Disgraceful Scam

I saw the newest disgraceful scam on Facebook yesterday. A man recorded himself to make everyone aware of those despicable thieves. You won’t believe this one.  The man works at home and receives a variety of calls from states in America.  A call came in from an area near him and the first question that he was asked was to verify his name, which he did.  Then the caller went on to ask about his daughter. They actually knew his daughter’s name. They further stated that she was injured in an accident.  They verified additional data which would have easily been obtained from her driver’s license.  He asked how serious was the accident. He immediately heard sounds of agony and truthfully he was so panicked by this time that he had no idea if it was her but it sounded like her.  The scammers went on for a bit continuing to discuss her medical condition, etc. It wasn’t too long before the pitch for money came. That was when he became suspicious.  Now he was playing along and they continued to try to convince him they needed a credit card to transport her to the hospital. The more they pitched, the quicker he began to understand that not only was this a scam, but a treacherous con at that. He even told them he just received a text from his daughter,  but thee ssid one of the medics was texting him for her. Finally, he hung up and told them that they should be ashamed of themselves for preying on a person’s fear of an injury to a loved one. The worst part about this disgraceful scam is that they will keep doing it. I would like to say how do they live with themselves but they have no morals or ethics. One can only hope that Karma visits them in the near future. The Good Gus Series is available online at Kindle, Nook and Waterstones.
