Repetition

In many ways, repetition is how we learn. In elementary school, not everyone was a good memorizer. Therefore, repetition was the key to learning.  It is important for teaching children, animals, and often adults.  The old saying, “If you keep doing what you always do, you will get what you always got.” That is true if you keep making the same mistakes over and over again.  Many people have this thought wave that  the next time it will be different but it never is.  Using repetition for learning or training is one thing, but never changing and continuing the same errors is something else.  For many people various areas come easily than others. For example, I am not mechanically inclined. I failed the tests in high school and just barely passed summer school.  However, I am a memorizer. Long before GPS I had to always memorize after following a map which truth be told I wasn’t that great with maps either.  I was recently on a trip and it was easy for me for directions although others felt GPS was superior.  Sadly, GPS was not quite as good as they thought. As much as we would like everything to work perfectly, it doesn’t. It can be electronics, families, relationships, jobs, or educational efforts.  We all do our best but sometimes it just is not good enough. Think about it.  Many women, myself included, can make food or bake various items through years of repetition. Even daily routines are nothing more that a repetition.
