Burnt-Out

Many people are reaching the point where they are completely burnt-out. It starts with difficult jobs and working too many hours.  Employers expect people to work very long days without any additional compensation. Monday I ended up working until 9:00 p.m. A task had to be finished as the client was going on holiday by the end of the week. The woman I work with, also known as Miss Patty in the Good Gus series, worked right along with me.  It was an exceedingly long day. Today was slower. Besides work, though, people have a great deal of stress in their lives. Many families are struggling financially. Yet they continue to persevere. Today, for example, we did work for a client in California who has a son who lives in Texas. The son has decided his father has dementia and is trying to take over all of his properties, bank accounts and stocks and bonds.  The man has not be diagnosed.  Both Pat and I have spoken to him several times and he appears to be one hundred percent clear.  We are trying to stop the son from doing this.  Part of the reason I wrote “Misplaced Trust” as I saw this too many times. There are numerous adult children who were well treated by their parents yet robbed them blind.  I believe greed is generally and almost always the factor. Even our everyday lives have become tense and difficult.  The fears of wars are overwhelming.  The numbers of children in particular being harmed is difficult to even think about.  All we want is peace yet somehow it eludes us.  This is also applicable to the children of the families they end up destroying. I have seen numerous Facebook videos where primarily sons’ have made their mothers’ homeless.  Not everyone is perfect but no one deserves this type of treatment, don’t you agree?
