One Moment of Madness

One moment of madness can lead to a lifetime of sadness.  People never stop and think about things.  They frequently speak without thinking. They hurt others and then suffer the consequences. People who lose their tempers truly regret their behavior a great deal of the time.  I have seen videos on Facebook about road rage.  If a person has one moment of madness they may do something they truly regret and be placed in prison forever.  How many times have you seen TV dramas where the person committed a crime against another person? Their response is almost always that, “I didn’t mean to do it.” Yet they lost it and ended up with a lifetime of sadness.  Sometimes I think that wars begin that way as the people in charge cannot control themselves.  They seek revenge or their pride has been wounded so they strike out.  What makes it so much worse is that it hurts many others along the way.  Losing one’s temper causes too much damage. On the TV show, “So Help Me Todd,” Margaret’s husband had decided to leave her and moved to Iceland. He told her son she was overbearing and he couldn’t take her anymore. Then after she finally decided to divorce him, without him even noticing, he returned.  He took over her home and even brought a cat into it. None of this pleased her. However, his moment of madness ended up him literally being homeless and because he blew all of his money in Iceland,  and was dead broke. She sold his stamp collection and gave him the cash and told him to leave.  He felt he could do what in wanted but in reality people cannot always accept another person’s actions. Whenever we do anything that could hurt others we must learn to live with the consequences.  If everything was forgiven there would be no jails or prisons.  Returning to treating others with respect would be a good start, don’t you agree?
