I saw a video that stuck in my mind about unkind treatment. It was about a family with two sons. One son was favored much more than the other one. When the unfavored son turned eighteen his parents told him to move out. He had a part time job and literally no money. He had no choice but to leave. A few friends helped him out in the beginning. Fortunately, while he had been working he had bought a camper for his pick-up truck. He eventually began sleeping in it in various car parks. He finally continued his schooling and found a job. He made enough to share an apartment with another young man. They rented for a year and then in 2020 COVID hit. They both lost their jobs. The roommate had family near by who took him in. At least he didn’t receive unkind treatment. The young man sold their furniture and was homeless again. He didn’t have work which made it difficult. He asked his parents if he could park in their driveway. They said not without paying rent. Once again their unkind treatment made life difficult for this young man. He went back to sleeping in his camper and finding odd jobs to hold on. Finally, once the pandemic passed he landed a good job. They had a huge car park and he was allowed to stay in the back. The guards knew him and since he was available 24/7, he was treated exceptionally well. Eventually he was promoted and receive a higher salary. He began saving and once he had the down payment he purchased a manufactured home. Somehow his parents found out and were suddenly on his doorstep. He barely had any furniture and when he opend the door they barged in. They demanded that his younger brother, wife and three children with another on the way take over the house rent free and he return to living in his camper. He flatly refused and forced them out. He recorded the entire incident. They called him all types of names and were really nasty. About a week later while he was at work, his brother, wife, kids and a moving truck pulled up to his home. When he returned from work he couldn’t access his front door. His brother had changed the lock and just left the old one and drill on the front porch. He set up his phone to record and banged on the door to be let in. They basically told him they were living there now, rent free, and he could move into his camper which he had since placed at the back area of his lot. He recorded the conversaton and then called the police. In the meantime the parents arrived and began taunting him, saying nasty things and in general told him his brother and family were living there. Again he had the foresight to record the conversation. By the time the police arrived, the parents, brother and his wife all lied to them. Then the older brother played the recordings. The police forced them out and to take all their belongings back out. All the while the parents, kids and everyone told him how horrible he was. He had the foresight to post on Facebook to all their relatives who did not live nearby exactly what had happend. By the time they returned to their home, evereyone knew. They didn’t give up. A week later the parents returned demanding he treat his brother better and give him his home. Again, he recorded everything. He called the police who arrived and just listened to the recordings. Finally, they left. Due to their extreme unkind treatment he never spoke or heard from them again. I know this was long but what did you think about the unkind treatment to a decent family member?
