Fast Food

I just discovered that YouTube has a channel devoted to fast food restaurants. It is shocking what really is in the so called foods. They don’t leave any restaurants out of their shows. For example, the fish in certain sandwhiches are not really fish. The potatoes that make french fried perfect are primarily from Idaho. The farmers spray the potatoes and then literally wait several days before going out in the fields to avoid the toxins. Then, when they feel they are ready they are harvested and shipped to specific fast food chains. I just learned that the eggs in many coffee shop sandwhiches along with many of the fast food breakfast chains are not even close to being actual real eggs. After I sent just a few of these tidbits my daughter she has decided to never eat at a fast food restaurant again. Let me give more examples. There are two chains that sell a form of ice cream. I say a form because it isn’t really. It looks like it but it is chock full of chemicals and artifical sweetners to make it look and taste good. This is a horrible way to earn money.  I also saw an article that wrote about restaurants in general. One point that stood out is that regardless of the type of restaurant, many workers do not wash their hands. They also use various utensils and don’t clean them before using them on another product. It’s appauling. I have been and still am a firm believer in eating at home. It may not always be fancy, but you know what items you purchased. I also saw an article about checking the codes for items claiming to be organic. In the United States it must have a nine in front of the code otherwise it’s a lie. Have I changed your mind about fast food and restaurants in general? The Good Gus Series is available online at Kindle, Nook and Waterstones.
