Super Bowl

Today is the super bowl.  Everyone is excited.  Many individuals are having parties with all types of snacks and treats.  In Ireland, the pubs with televisions offer special services to watch the game.  I am not a fan. Although I understand that the half time shows are fabulous.  Rihanna is doing her show for free as she beat out JLo.  My late father-in-law loved to watch provided his teams were playing. He had his favorites.  I would watch the endings only. He loved the Green Bay Packers and the Dallas Cowboys.  He appreciated Tom Landry’s professionalism.  I would make various foods, his favorites, for him to enjoy.  It was so close back then to New Year’s Day that there would be leftovers.  His favorites were baked ham and my lemon meringue pie.  He was not a fan of vegetables.  The groceries were crowded Friday and yesterday.  They may have  even be packed earlier today. Everyday this week there were recipes for today for a variety of foods.  The main electronics sections of large stores also have been selling extremely large TV’s at sale prices.  I am prepared.  I have been recording my type of shows so I can watch anything I want if I am inclined.  I am assuming the game is broadcast in many countries and of course, betting is quite high.  Even in Ireland we had the betting parlors offering the odds.  I actually think Las Vegas sets them but I am not one hundred percent sure.  Anyway, there was no super bowl in Pecos.  I hope everyone enjoys their day. The Good Gus Series is available online at Kindle, Nook and Waterstones.
