The amount of theft in all types of stores is steadily increasing. Many stores are taking measures to prevent it with tags, guards, cameras, and alarms but it appears it is not enough. Nordstrom’s in Los Angeles was hit last week. They lost over one hundred thousand dollars or one hundred nine thousand Euros in merchandise. It is a significant amount of money. Again it was a flash mob, organized and thought out. Now, two new stores are concerned over so much theft that their stocks have dropped. They are Dollar Tree and Dick’s Sporting Goods. Dollar Tree is inexpensive, has brand names and the staff is always pleasant. I love their collection of cards for all types of events. They have increased some of their prices to one dollar and twenty-five cents but the items are a good deal. I also love their fake flowers and children’s books. They have a nice collection of both. Now they are taking measures to prevent stealing. I know that other stores have this problem as well but the names I am writing about have a higher percentage of theft. Dick’s Sporting Goods said their stock dropped twenty percent. That is definitely not good. Many of their items are large so I am guessing that the thieves are concentrating on any and all small items. We were all raised not to steal so I find this abominable. If you try to think in a thief’s mind, what do you see? Can you guess as to why or even have a clue as to their behavior? The Good Gus Series is available online at Kindle, Nook and Waterstones.
