Unfaithful is not just about couples. You can be friends and have someone betray you. For example, I know a woman, Jane, who had been best friends with another woman, Lucy, for years. They lived in different states in the U.S. but they weren’t that far away that they visited frequently. One day, when Jane least expected it, Lucy betrayed her for money. Jane was involved in a court case and Lucy turned on her all for a down payment for a home. It was sad and heartbreaking. What is worse is that she lied about the whole event and made up additional stories that totally destroyed Jane. When a person does that to you it is difficult to recover as the damage she did was extreme. All the time you see in various TV shows people lying, cheating and stealing for large sums of money. It is a wrong way to live. I am guessing they do not have a conscious. In many of my chapters in “Misplaced Trust” what the family members did for greed is often shocking. During a time of grief people should band together rather than attack. However, the desire for money outweighs their possible previous feelings. One of the things I say in my book is how can individuals who had strong relationships and bonds go against each other? It is an unbelievable concept. Have you ever thought how greed outweighs everything and makes people unfaithful to one another? Being unfaithful to a spouse is not very nice either. You made a promise and commitment and yet broke it at will. What motivates a person to throw away their morals and positive upbringing? Is it the thrill or a desire for revenge against their partner?
