Getting Fit

January is all about getting fit.  After all people want to go to warm climates for the cold months not to mention spring is not too far away.  Everyone wishes to look physically fit.  Getting fit is another problem as individuals are set in their ways.  They think nothing of eating fast food rather than take the time to make a snack or a meal.  The health food industry still exisits but it is not as popular as it once was.  There is more organic foods at various groceries and yet there are others that have discontinued their organic lines of food. Many people use steps as a guide as to how much they walk per day.  They use their phones or a smart watch to keep track.  Many of the articles talk about taking ten thousand steps per day. The number became popular in the 1960’s in Japan.  Since then there have been controversies as to the pros and cons. I think what is really important is that we all walk everyday.  I workout on a mini trampolene and walk so that it totals twenty minutes in the morning. At night I just do the twenty minutes of walking. If the weather is bad or too cold I walk up and down the hall.  Either way I continue to exercise. Many of the studies have revealed that older women are gettng fit who are walking less than ten thousand steps and are still in good health. Mos people are walking at least seventy-five hundred steps. Just so that we know two thosand five hundred steps equal one mile or 4023.35 meters. Walking is pleasant and enjoyable not to mention it is an easy way to get fit don’t you agree? The Good Gus Series is available online at Kindle, Nook and Waterstones.
