Why is it that there are people in life who are never satisfied and no matter how great something is it is always never enough. They always want more. I think it starts as children. A child may see another child receive a better toy, more attention, newer clothes, a better lunch at school, the list is endless. Then the jealousy sets in and when they finally begin to have all the good things in their lives it still turns out to be never enough. We need to teach our children early in life that just because another child has more toys, better clothes, etc. that they should still appreciate what they do have. The jealousy factor occurs in life for many people. As children we may have been bullied because we wore used clothing, didn’t buy food at the cafeteria or lived in a home that was considered below everyone else’s standards. The fact that we had clothing, food to eat and a home to live in should have taught us early on to be appreciative. Obviously as we became adults we had new standards and goals to be a success. However in order to be a success we need to understand that jealousy or wishing won’t make it happen. If you listen to the coaches on YouTube they will tell you if you have to think about it. The first and most important step is to have a real goal and a way to achieve it. It could be a college degree, a trade from a tech school, or a skill that could help you start your own business. Positive thoughts are important but when we achieve our first milestone we need to be happy and not think it is never enough. My late husband and I started a contract engineering firm years ago with a third person. Once we had our first contract we didn’t just sit back and wish for more. We continued to work so we could hire people to help promote the business. Before long we were quite successful. In our case it was never enough to have only one or two people working. We wanted to help others obtain an income. There is nothing wrong with wanting more but appreciation and gratitude need to be in your thoughts for what you do have and the goals and success you have achieved. How many people do you know think that what they have is never enough? The Good Gus Series is available online at Kindle, Nook and Waterstones.
