Snooping

What on earth makes people think that snooping of family, friends, relatives, partners, and even workmates is acceptable?Let me give you an example. A relative of mine has been sick. Her mother traveled to her home to help her. The mother is a difficult person. One day the mother was snooping in her daughter’s phone.  She read an email that was none of her business. It was from her daughter’s aunt. The fact that the aunt was referring to her mother and speaking the truth made the mother angry. She should not have been snooping to begin with. People seem to feel that is is fine to go through another person’s phone. On “Bob Hearts Abishola,”  Bob walked into the kitchen to see Abishola scrolling through her son’s phone. She felt it was absolutely fine to do it.  We all deserve privacy. Yet, she was not of that opinion.  What I find dispicable is workmates hacking into their co-workers computers. The reasons vary including stealing another person’s idea, sabotaging a project so that they can save the day and be the hero, checking to see if the person is dating anyone at work and many more reasons. Curiosity is one thing but snooping into other individual’s computer at work is another. They may keep private data temporarily on their work computer which again is not anyone’s business. When I was young there were many older ladies peering out their windows spying on everyone.  I could never get away with anything, even if I wanted to, as these charming women would tattle on me.  This, of course, led to some form of punishment. Can you imagine if the situation was reversed?  I don’t think they would like it very much, don’t you agree?
