Bad Habits

Everyone has bad habits. It is just a question of what they are. Many individuals don’t even notice it. For example, there are people who only eat fast food. They find it easy and convenient but technically it is a bad habit. The foods do not contain the appropriate nutrients. Plus as many ingredients are fried, whatever might have been nutritious is gone due to the fat. Not to meniton that the fat is of the poorest quality and highly saturated. Even with the costs rising there are individuals who simply cannot break the fast food habit. It would be easier and even cheaper to buy the pre-made dinners to microwave. At least there would be some nutritional value. Of course, years ago and even still today people cannot quit smoking cigarettes.  They are actually manufactured to make people become addicted. Now, as it is legal in many states, marijuana using a vape or pipe tends to cause people to become addicted. It is a bad habit as it affects a person’s lungs. Over the years, including members of my family, have died from lung cancer. The one factor they all had in common with  was smoking. My late mother-in-law was so addicted that when the medical staff didn’t notice she would go off her oxygen just to have a smoke. Learning how to change a bad habit takes work. Kids, teens and adults have now developed the continual need for technology. Taking the time to not use a phone, TV, play a video game, etc. doesn’t really exist in anyone’s family.  I saw a woman on the $100,000 Pyramid that had logged in well over twenty-two thousand hours on video games. I found it shocking. When we look at our own bad habits we have to look honestly at ourselves. We can’t just say well I will stop this, but keep going with something else. The whole point of ending bad habits is to make the necessary changes, don’t you agree? The Good Gus Series is available online at Kindle, Nook and Waterstones.
