Grudges are pointless, useless and petty. Did you ever look at them that way? Seriously, though, they do more harm than good. Holding onto grudges destroys a person. It ruins their health by eating out their stomachs. They often end up with ulcers. It also destroys their minds. They focus so much on their feelings and how to get even, that they end up losing many things. This could include their job, friends, partners’, and even their family relationships. I knew a person once who could not let go. He was borderline obsessed with getting even. He didn’t want to commit a crime, harm their intended, he just wanted to find a way to destroy him. He tried having him removed from his job but that failed. When the disliked person moved on to another position he sent fake emails to the man’s boss making wild accusations. It did not work. He then began following him and slashing his tires when the man was at a restaurant, on a date, visiting a friend and even at work. He even found a way to empty his bank accounts without getting caught. I could not stand the grudge holder and stopped associating with him. Life is for living. We need to take advantage of the positive and let go of the negative. There are enough problems in the world that we have to face on a daily basis. Holding grudges should not be one of them.
