Snide

Don’t you just hate it when you tell a person something really great and they don’t believe you and even give you a snide remark?  For example, in the movie “The Princess Diaries,” Anne Hathaway doesn’t believe her grandmother, Julie Andrews, that she is a real princess.  She makes remarks including, ‘shut up’ which is slang, ‘no way’ and the topper “I don’t believe you.”  The grandmother was overwhelmed and insulted by her responses. Of course, she finally believed her when her servant pointed out that she was speaking American slang. The snide remarks that people make because they believe they know better is truly insulting.  Another example might be either an extremely handsome man with an unattractive woman or a gorgeous woman with a less than appealing man.  I have heard people make all types of remarks such as what are they doing with the other person; could they be wealthy; or?  It is truly disrespectful.  If a person wins the lottery and  they were not popular previously and then suddenly they become someone’s best friend looking for a handout.  If before the lottery people would not give the winner the time of day, spoke rudely to them and were generally insulting in any conversation, it just proves that they were the fakes and phony one might suspect.  I find it degrading when you tell someone something and their response is, “Oh sure,” “Are you kidding?” or “That would never happen to someone like you.” The worst part about a snide person is that they can be in your life and as much as you would like them to stop, they refuse.  They believe they are smarter, luckier and better than you or anyone else.  I find this type of behavior shameful, don’t you?
