Mistress

In life people tend to betray others.  The mistress is a perfect example.  The women brag about living an expensive lifestyle while at the beck and call of their benefactor.  When either one ends the relationship, problems arise. It is also fodder for divorce.  When a man decides to take a mistress he may have several reasons.  His wife has no appeal, she is no longer attractive to him, she is older now and he wants a younger woman, etc.  The reasons are endless.  Sadly, though, the wife may not even know about the mistress.  The wife may be treated decently, but the other woman is treated much better.  They frequently live in luxury, drive expensive vehicles, own expensive clothes and jewelry, have personal trainers and beauty experts who are available at a moment’s notice. I knew a man who had a mistress.  The other woman was treated so much better than his wife.  While the other woman barely worked, the wife took care of the business, the home, the family and without realizing it ended up paying all of the mistress’s expenses.  The husband was often away claiming it was business and she was his secretary.  They travelled frequently in the states and Europe.  They had quite a life.  When the wife finally did find out everything went straight downhill.  The wife left but continued to work just not in the same capacity.  The mistress finally gave up and left for another man.  She did take all of the wife’s money before departing.  You may say the wife was foolish but she simply didn’t know any better.  She was the worker bee as that was what she believed was expected of her.  Of course, her life completely changed as well.  She never divorced him and he eventually died.  I am not sure if the mistress knows to this day.  We all make choices in life.  Some of them are good and others turn out badly.  We are responsible for our actions but often many women are blind to various events in life.  Don’t you agree? The Good Gus Series is available online at Kindle, Nook and Waterstones.
