One of the “Late Shows” is being cancelled and many fans are upset about it. When I was young I would babysit quite a bit. I always watched the Late Show whichever one was on. It was interesting and usually funny. It was a good way to end the evening. In Ireland we have the “Late Late Show.” I even saw Maureen O’Hara which was a thrill. She was a wonderful actess and I loved her in so many movies but particularly “The Quiet Man.” She was also quite lovely even as she aged. The thing people like about late night shows as they often have comedy and the old “Johnny Carson Show” introduced many comedians that brightened your evening before going to sleep. If you have had a rough day, one of the late shows was always the best. You forgot your troubles and stress for a few minutes. One of the great things about Johnny Carson was he chose people who did a short skit that always made you laugh. Sometimes he had singers and dancers that were bright and cheery. That is still true of The Late Late Show in Ireland. There is so much negativity in the world that something that brings joy and a smile to your face is still important, don’t you agree?
