Dependable

How many people do you know that are dependable?  I expect you can count them on one hand. In today’s world, it is almost impossible to count on individuals to even show up at work.  Many people seem to wake up one morning and decide they are no longer  happy in their job and just stop showing up.  It is difficult on the companies as they have to struggle with the current staff while trying to find a replacement.  The new attitude of at least half the population is that they are indispensable so therefore they can arrive late, leave early, and work only one third of the time.  It is unreasonable, yet they expect large paychecks.  There are various agencies in the employ of the government who literally perform this way.  Simple tasks that should be accomplished within a short period of time take months. I have firsthand knowledge of this as clients call me frequently complaining why certain events take months instead of weeks.  All Miss Patty and I can do is continue to check with specific agencies to see when the tasks may be completed.  This is also true of individuals in general whom you may be associated with. They may promise to help you with a matter and then either cancel at the last minute or not show up at all.  I know small  businesses that work with other small companies that cut them slack when they are going through a rough period.  If the companies continue to make payments until they catch up, they know that they are dependable.  How many people in your close circle of friends do you know that are dependable?
