Organized Theft

One of the newest trends is organized theft.  A group of people get together.  They completely organize the group choosing a high end store.  They then systematically rush the store, overtake the staff and then grab as much merchandise as possible and flee in multiple vehicles.  There was one yesterday in Glendale, California where they stole over three hundred thousand dollars or three hundred twenty-seven thousand Euros.  Yves St. Laurent, the company that owned the store, is furious.  They are anxious to track down the thieves.  This is not the first incident in California. I has occurred in Los Angeles and San Francisco.  We were all raised not to steal so it is amazing to me that people form a plan of action and then dive in.  There are robberies all the time in all parts of the world but this is organized.  My first thought is where do you find these people.  Are they random or do you join groups that are looking for money?  Years ago organized crime performed a variety of thefts in all parts of the globe.  They were quiet about it and kept the participants a secret.  Aren’t they worried that if one person is caught they will tell the police the names of the rest of the group?  I must say it takes a lot of nerve to make the decision to very specifically steal with other people. I do not know anyone who would act this way or who has ever committed a robbery, do you? The Good Gus Series is available online at Kindle, Nook and Waterstones.
