Disrespect if a form of bullying.  Sadly people do it as children to parents, in the workplace, in public, shops and almost anywhere.  A person who does not care about how they treat others is also showing some form of contempt.  They believe thier opinions are correct and all others are not. The number of videos on Facebook with this theme is quite surprising. I saw one just the other day. A mother came to visit her son. It was a surprise. The wife, who had never met her, came home and immediately started berating her. She was criticizing her just automatically assuming she was the new maid.  The mother had made her son’s favorite food.  She was about to throw it away when the son walked in. The wife had never even given the mother-in-law a chance to speak.  As soon as the son saw the food he was elated.  He was so excited she had made his favorite food.  Needless to say the total disrespect to the mother-in-law turned the relationship into a quick ending. Often people assume too much and then they display their disrespect. Neflex has been showing clips from the movie “The Help” which I have never seen.  I find it appauling the way various ethnicities were treated.  The complete lack of respect was horrible.  Good people should be treated well.  There are other videos which show men cheating on their wives. Their lack of respect for them becomes clear when they take on a mistress. I knew a man who had a mistress for over twenty years.  He did not treat his wife well or fairly. She asked for a divorce more than once but he always controlled the purse strings and since they were in business together her options were limited. In addition, she had no family to go home to which made it worse. No mother would give up a home, car and income because of her husband’s behavior.  Most women, at least on Facebook, movies, TV shows and even in books will tolerate the situation because they have children. The sad part is the disrespect he showed his wife passed along to his children whom as adults treated her equally as bad.  Don’t you believe all people should be treated well and not disrespect them?
