Indoor Walking

Indoor walking at home is now a new fad. Years ago people who wished to exercise by walking went to the mall, joined groups and did indoor walking even at gyms.  With inflation, the rising costs of joining a gym, people have resorted to new forms of exercise.  I have been doing indoor walking at home for years.  I have lived in various climates such as too hot, too cold, too windy, etc. that it just made it easier to exercise indoors. Of course, now that this is “new” the people on YouTube and Facebook are charging a fee for a person to learn how to do this.  The truth is no one needs to spend money. You simply walk up and down a hall or back and forth in a sizeable room and time yourself.  It just doesn’t take that much thought process. It amazes me that something so simple can become instantly popular and then individuals charge for it. I have always exercised whether it was walking in my neighborhood, or taking my dogs for a stroll, or even walking up and down the driveway with my dogs. As long as we exercise in some form it helps to keep us healthy. Anyone starting out needs to pay attention to their timing. Last Saturday, my daughter, granddaughter and I went to an Easter egg hunt at the botanical gardens. We had a great time but at the end of the day my daughter told me we had walked  three miles or 4.82 kilometers.  I was impressed with myself as my legs didn’t even hurt. However, I did realize that I needed to buy new sneakers. Any day that is a beautiful day is always good to walk outside.  The fresh air does us a world of good. It is also very relaxing don’t you agree? The Good Gus Series is available online at Kindle, Nook and Waterstones.
