Settling

the special gift

Often in life we end up settling for something or someone that was never our first choice. Then we regret it sometimes forever.  Even small decisions can eat at us.  For example, a person may decide to go over their budget for an item that is on sale because they really want it.  They will use their credit card and then when the bill arrives, they are upset with themselves for doing it.  This can include big purchases such as settling for a house because the price is right even though it is not your first choice, it’s not in the neighborhood you were seeking and you will probably end up fixing it up to make it look decent.  Then after you do that you will realize that if you just spent a little more you could have had your dream house without all the repairs and mess. As men and women age they often chose a person as a life mate because they are running out of options and the do not wish to be alone.  The chances of it working out are somewhat slim yet people do it anyways. This also occurs in the workplace. Frequently, a person has to settle for a job just to be able to have an income. Then they are trapped until something better comes along.  In the world today, with all the events, we are often settling because we simply have no options. In the Good Gus series, Bad Bart had to settle for an ice cream sundae when there was no chocolate ice cream. The Good Gus Series is available online at Kindle, Nook and Waterstones. Hard copies, personally autographed, are available through our website www.goodgusbooks.com along with past blogs for your reading enjoyment. Digitizing for all the books will be ready next week! Please consider adding “The Special Gift” as a new Christmas tradition. Books one and two are now available along with “The Special Gift” on the Tractor Supply website.
