As this is the week in the states that everyone should be thankful, why is Facebook showing so many mean videos? It is a week we should reflect on the positive not the continual rude, nasty, despicable, contemptable shorts on the internet. We should be grateful everyday not just because it is Thanksgiving. Here are a few examples of the mean videos. A man was waiting for his wife at home. When she walked in the door he told her to sit at the table that he had something to say to her. She replied that she had something to say as well. He immediately produced divorce paperwork. He proceeded to tell her how horrible she as, that she had quit her job and that she was to sign the papers and move out instantly. She tried to speak to him but he wouldn’t listen. He had been dating her best friend for the past six months. The wife was overwhelmed. He was so unpleasant that she simply signed the papers. Once she did he told her to leave. Then she gave him her news. When she told him she had just won nine million dollars or nine million eight hundred and ten Euros in the lottery he changed his tune. He began stating that half the money was his and she reminded him of the divorce agreement. She walked out with a plant while he sat there devastated and furious. A second example was about a pregnant woman that was sitting in a car with a black eye. Her boyfriend was screaming at her as they were parked on the side of the road. A window cleaner walked up and saw what was happening. She began cleaning the windows quickly right before the man was about to hit the woman. Another woman was walking by when the window cleaner asked her to use her phone as hers had died. She refused and said she would not get involved in any situation with a couple. The window cleaner walked back and bent down and began to loosen the screw to let out the air in the tire. She then told the man who got out to look. As soon as he did the pregnant woman tried to escape. As she turned the corner he grabbed her and was about to hit her again when a policeman appeared and arrested him. The woman with the phone came back and told the two girls that she had decided to call the police. Right at that point the pregnant girl went into labor so the woman with the phone took her to the hospital. Off course, it ended well, but why aren’t there more positive videos particularly about helping others without the meanness and violence. How do you feel about mean videos?
