Santa

Yesterday I saw this lovely story about Santa that I just had to pass along.  A man with a family always played Santa every holiday season. He absolutely enjoyed it.  One year a little boy sat on his lap when it was his turn. The boy looked very sad. Santa asked him why he was not happy.  He said he only wanted one thing for Christmas.  His little sister was sick in the hospital and she loved him.  All she wanted was a visit from him.  Santa asked if he could bring anything for the boy and he said no.  He told the boy to motion to his mother to go to one of his elves and give the information about his sister to one of them.  At the end of his shift he spoke to the elf with the data and then asked the manager where the hospital was.  Once the manager realized that the little girl had leukemia and might not make Christmas he said he would drive him. When Santa arrived he saw a little girl hooked up to medical machinery with her family around her.  She was so thrilled to see him. He stayed until she was tired and then left the room. Both Santa and the manager burst into tears. Santa had a boy the same age which affected him.  The following year Santa was back at his usual position.  One day a little girl came to sit on his lap.  When she started speaking he knew instantly that it was Sarah, the girl who was in the hospital. Her mother told him that his visit gave her so much hope that she became well. Her hair grew back and now she rides her bike and plays outside.  Santa was overjoyed.  Didn’t you just love that story?
