Crime

I hate the news as there is so much violence and crime.  People seem to enjoy hating each other and ruining lives for revenge, enjoyment or recognition. It is all insane.  From a six year old shooting a teacher to various shootings in high schools.  None of this is necessary.  The society has changed and it appears that morals and ethics are slowly disappearing. There was even a high school shooting in Finland last week. That I found to be really shocking as it is not even remotely a European occurance.  Is the American crime scene now influencing the rest of the world? How can we make this all stop? All the videos make violence so attractive that it attracts both children and adults. It makes it appear that if they commit the crime they will have fame and be a star. When in reality they not only destroy their lives but hurs others along the way.  Just today I saw an article about guards in a juvenile detention center in the Dallas Ft. Worth area watch other inmates beat up a boy.  Do they really believe their mothers’ would be proud of them?  How can they be proud of themselves?  People are supposed to be kind and care about others yet they don’t. They must get some thrill or joy out of this type of behavior.  I really don’t know.  The amount of violence that occurs in our lives now is astronomical. It is almost as if we have adjusted to it.  There are probably also too many shows making violence appear to be exciting. I like mysteries as much as the next person but I do not watch anything with blood and gore. Plus nothing that actually shows the deed.  Comedies seem to be disappearing at a rapid rate.  We all need to enjoy life more and laugh, don’t you agree?
