Email Scams

As fast as we delete and block the emails,  scams just keep coming. As fast as I block and hit unsubscribe, they find a new email address and resend.  Many of these are to give me money.  Seriously, just how stupid do you think I am? These emails are generally about winning money.  The amounts are often exorbitant. When I first became a paraalegal I learned very quickly how their game works.  This is also one of my stories in my book “Misplaced Trust.” At that time I worked for a diferent attorney.  One day a man called in. He had received an email claiming he was a multimillion dollor /Euro winner. All he had to do to collect the prize was give a tax amount that was around ten thousand dollars and or Euros plus.  I asked him if he had entered that particuarly lottery. He said no but he was sure he was a winnter. I told him it was one of the email scams.  I was on and off with him on the phone all day trying to convince him not to give them his credit card.  I knew once he gave them his number the money would be gone and there would be no recourse as they were one hundred percent phony. Sure enough he gave them his card and he never saw his money or his fake winnings ever. Just as I am writing this blog, I have received almost fiften email scams claiming I won money. I do not even know how I became part of their list.  I have unsubscried and still they just keep coming.  We all receive the email scams but lately the number seems to be increasing.  They just push a button and bingo you are a winner, you are entitled to, etc. It’s all lies to steal from you. I am sick of it. This also occurs with our phones.  I probably block at least five calls per day.  Do you have the same problem?
