Strength and Courage

The Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, has certainly displayed strength and courage.  Many individuals who are dignosed with a disease or condition simply fall apart.  She is a strong brave woman. I saw a short video yesterday about a woman who was in a wheelchair.  Her husband had no desire to help her or take care of her so he hired a caretaker.  The caretaker nurse quickly realised something more was going on. The husband, who was also a doctor, was treating his wife poorly. She often choked on her food.  She tried to display a strength and courage that he mocked. While all this was going on he had a girlfriend just waiting to take the wife’s place.  The nurse began to suspect something about her patient’s condition. She took over feeding the woman and paid close attention to the medication the doctor/husband was giving her.  The husband’s mistress clearly knew that it was only a matter of time because the reality of the situation was that he was poisoning her.  Once the nurse figured it all out, she told the wife as her health was slowly improving.  When she told the wife, it all made sense.  They didn’t say a word while she continued to improve. Then one day she told her husband she knew what he was doing. He denied it but it was too late. The wife explained everything while the doctor/husband denied it. Then she literally stood up from her wheelchair. Of course, the police walked in and that was the end of him. Many individuals have to face a variety of circumstances and events that are extremely difficult.  One of the worst for a parent is a sick child or one that passes. The pain can be excruciating. Obviusly, during the stock market crash of 1929, many people suddenly lost all their income, homes, and literally had to start over.  One of the reasons American’s moved out west was there was no work where they lived and there were jobs and of course, the gold rush. Starting over at any age is difficult. It requires a great deal of strength and courage, don’t you agree? The Good Gus Series is available online at Kindle, Nook and Waterstones.
