Accountability

Why does it seem that accoutability no longer exists? Take a look at the international issues.  Countries are attacking other countries with absolutely no accountability. In everyday life, people in authority make decisions about other individuals’ life without them being aware of what is actually happening. I saw an article about the gaslighting parent.  They don’t seem to be held to the same standards as everyone else. They always claim they are the victim even to their child. They make the boy or girl feel shame, as if they did something wrong, denial and live in fear of retaliation. This is typcial narcisstic behavior.  It is truly horrible what they do to their children. Most children do not grow emulating the gaslighting parent as they learn outside the home that they must be responsible and accountable for their actions. They also tend to have trouble with reality. They are so accustomed to being told they are wrong, that the parent didn’t do anything to them, that they grow up assuming they don’t see things clearly and if there is a mistake it is always their fault. I have worked with adults who have continually apologized because they thought they made a mistake or did something wrong. Sometimes an error is just that, an error.  It is not a crisis it is simple something that needs to be corrected. I think one of the worst traits of a person who gaslights and is absolved from accountability is that they blame and manipulate the child into believing whatever it is that they did wrong so the child accepts the blame. I have known people in my lifetime that have never been held to any stanards and therefore, have done anything they wanted to including cheating insurance companies, breaking the law, not following court orders, forging documents, etc. Yet when presented in the light of day, they somehow are the massive victims and not held accountable for their actions. If you think I am kidding, read any article about abuse, the family court system, why there are so many people living in shelters, etc. This is also true of the extremely wealthy. They are often exempt. Just look at the articles and gossip about them. Do you know anyone who is never held accountabile for their actions?
